Our Friends of Ferry Point Park group changes with the members and Executive Board that flow through the Bronx. Started by Dotti Poggi back in 1999 As the Ferry Point Park West Coalition protecting the park from being used as the staging ground for the Iroquois Pipeline Extension by collecting 3000 letters opposed to this land route (to be sent to the Federal Energy Regulating Committee)....then in 2000 collecting signatures to keep it a Public Park and not part of the acerage being offered as a Golf Course Concession.

After those successes we evolved into a friendly "friends" group serving the Park itself and the thousands of Visitors that use it primarily on weekends. Focusing on community, civic, safety, health and social issues that impact the park. Our goal is to enhance the Park and advocate to bring a better safer more sanitary Park to this area with more diversified sports than Soccer and Cricket. When everyone pulls together the community thrives on all levels.

Our Mission
